A flurry of vessel contracting activity has resulted in awards and extensions for a trio of Oslo-listed offshore players as utilisation picks up amid a nascent revival in activity.

Solstad Offshore has secured a fresh two-year contract with Equinor off the UK for platform supply vessel Normand Skipper, with up to two years of options, due to start by year-end while also winning an extension with the same client of an existing contract for the PSV Sea Falcon effective this month.

Eidesvik Offshore has picked up an extension with Merkur Offshore for its subsea vessel Viking Neptun that will keep the unit working until May next year, with further optional extensions.

In addition, a charter with Siemens Gamesa for Eidesvik’s subsea vessel Acergy Viking has been extended by an additional one year until January 2021, with a further option until April the same year.

In the seismic segment, SeaBird Exploration has secured a further 30-day extension with an undisclosed client for survey vessel Osprey Explorer in the US Gulf of Mexico, taking the total contract duration to 120 days.
