Denmark’s Maersk Drilling has signed a deal with Italian operator Eni for exploration work offshore Timor-Leste.
Under the one-well agreement, Maersk will use the semi-submersible rig Maersk Deliverer to drill the Kanase-1 prospect in Block JPDA 11-106 in March 2019.
The estimated duration of the firm contract is two months, and it contains an option for another well with an expected duration of an additional two months.
The Maersk Deliverer is currently warm-stacked in Labuan, Malaysia, after completing a well programme earlier this year. It is expected to mobilise into the Timor Sea in early 2019.
